The Story Behind the Work

A 3D character study exploring the anatomy, scale, and movement of a humpback whale. Sculpted in ZBrush, the piece focuses on its distinctive proportions, throat pleats, facial tubercles, elongated pectoral fins, and natural surface irregularities. Rather than treating the whale as a static model, I wanted to capture the sense of weight and effortless movement it has underwater — a massive form that still feels remarkably fluid.
